Our Team
Cinekat Filmworks is a Los Angeles based production company founded by
Steven Helgoth and Frayne Rosanoff that specializes in original content for feature films and streaming platforms.
Steven Helgoth
Steven Helgoth is a writer, director, producer, and casting director based in Los Angeles, and the founder of Cinekat Filmworks.
Trained under Uta Hagen, Helgoth built his foundation in theater, producing and directing extensively in both New York and Los Angeles before transitioning to film. As founder of Helgoth & Associates Casting, he cast the Academy Award-winning short film West Bank Story, which premiered at Sundance before winning the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film.
His feature directing credits include Alien Vacation, a family sci-fi comedy starring Raymond Cruz, Julie Brown, and Tracy Scoggins, and Shadow Watchers, a psychological thriller starring Lesley Ann Warren and Jake Busey — both currently in active distribution and festival consideration. His earlier feature Hesperia, a multiple Best Director festival winner, is streaming on Amazon Prime, Tubi, Freevee, and the Roku Channel.
Helgoth brings decades of industry relationships across casting, production, and independent film financing to every project he develops. He currently serves as a judge for the Melrose Hill Short Film Festival.
